Bridal Henna & Weddings

All Natural Henna Tattoos have been a traditional part of weddings and sacred unions for centuries in many different cultures, in many parts of the world.

I work with traditional Indian, Middle Eastern, North African styles as well as custom designs for contemporary, Celtic and Pagan wedding ceremonies. Please send me images of designs and styles you like! Henna design elements will be discussed ahead of time. Bridal Henna is always unique and created just for you!

Your bridal henna can be applied during a private appointment or can include your bridesmaids and family members. Traditionally henna is done the night before the wedding, however, I recommend having your bridal henna done 2 days before the wedding. This will ensure your henna stain has time to fully develop and will be its darkest by the time of the ceremony.

See below for Bridal Henna Packages and the  length of time it takes to apply. Guests, bridesmaids and family members usually receive more simple designs compared to the bride. I can create 10-12 simple henna party designs per hour for guests after the bride receives her henna.

It is also common to have henna offered to guests at the wedding reception and bridal showers!

The Night of Henna

In many cultures The Night of Henna, known as the Sangeet in India, is one of many wedding traditions where the groom's family gifts henna powder to the family of the bride, so the bride and her family can be adorned with henna the night before the wedding. In my experience, this part of the wedding festivities is celebrationaland can include both families of the bride and groom. The bride can have her henna done at this time, however, I recommend having the bride's henna done before the party starts, or the day before, so she has time to sit, relax and be still without having to play the hostess while receiving her henna! I recommend having the bridal henna done 2 days before the ceremony so that the henna is darkest by the wedding ceremony. Grooms can receive henna too, it is up to him!

Healing Henna by Robyn Jean is available in the Treasure Valley, Boise, Lowman and Stanely, Idaho area for in-person appointments.
